PI Ambassadors
PI Ambassadors
PI Ambassadors are recognised experts and practitioners who actively promote the Physical Internet (PI) vision and its practical implementation. Within the IKIGAI project, they act as trusted voices, facilitating collaboration between researchers, industry leaders, and policymakers to accelerate the adoption of open, interconnected, and sustainable logistics systems. Their work is evidence-based, informed by operational realities, and aimed at creating tangible business and societal benefits.
Role and contributions
A PI Ambassador may contribute in several ways:
-
- Share knowledge and understanding of the Physical Internet with their own ecosystem and networks.
- Share implementation cases and best practices in PI adoption for twin transition.
- Promote the standard processes and protocols that will expand compliancy to the PI Norm and encourage their adoption across industries.
- Engage with peers and other PI Ambassadors and their networks of global, European, country and regional supply chain, logistics and freight transport innovation leaders.
- Activate multiplier effect of the IKIGAI outputs and of broader Physical Internet initiatives.
- Support the establishment and enlargement of the PI coalition.
- Inspire and guide all societal streams, including new generation and young researchers, innovators and talents, industrial players and policy makers raising awareness improving PI and zero emissions logistics abilities.
Ambassadors are selected for their proven influence in creating measurable impact and their ability to activate change within their own ecosystems.
A valuable role in a global community
Becoming a PI Ambassador means joining a vibrant, action-oriented network. Ambassadors connect with the IKIGAI consortium, comprising leading global companies, research organisations, and EU networks, including Smart Freight Center, Open Logistics Foundation, International Data Space Association, GS1, POLIS, and ALICE. This creates unique opportunities to:
-
- Increase visibility in the European and global logistics innovation ecosystem.
- Gain early access to IKIGAI outputs, innovations, and PI best practices.
- Participate in high-profile events, debates, and award selections.
- Position both themselves and their organisations at the forefront of logistics transformation.
The role is voluntary and carries no financial obligations or remuneration, but it offers unparalleled access, influence, and recognition in shaping the future of sustainable logistics.
